KUCHING: Two lion heads created by the Hakka Cultural Association Sarawak have made into the Malaysia Book of Records.

They stood 10 feet tall, 7 feet wide and 16 feet long.

This is the association’s second MBR entry, the first being in January 2020 for the most number of 71 lion heads ever to be presented in a performance.

The eye-dotting ceremony for the two largest lions heads was performed by Deputy Minister of Public Health, Housing and Local Government, Michael Tiang and Kuching City South Council Mayor Datuk Wee Hong Seng on Friday.

In applauding the feat Wee said it is everyone’s responsibility to preserve cultural inheritance for the public to be more aware.

“So this is another record, and we’re very happy and it is also in conjunction with the 34th year as a city for Kuching”, he said.

“Through culture and understanding, we will be able to understand each other much better,” he said.
