The transgender social media star, who counts 2.2 million followers on Instagram and 2.91 million subscribers to her YouTube channel, has teamed up with beauty subscription company Ipsy on the venture, WWD reports.
Dubbed ‘Gigi Gorgeous Cosmetics,’ the brand will reportedly include a lip gloss, two bronzer and blusher duos, and a contour brush.
“With the beauty community being overly saturated, to say the least, right now…I really wanted to make sure it was products that I personally love and that people would eventually end up emptying and repurchasing,” the star told WWD.
In an Instagram post breaking the news to her followers, Gigi revealed plans to unveil the collection fully at the ‘Ipsy Live’ event taking place in New York this weekend. “I can’t wait to share more about the entire line and go in depth with each product, my ideas behind them, the custom formulas, packaging and everything else!” she wrote.
The Canadian star is the latest in a string of influencers to create, or co-create, their own beauty products. Health, fitness and beauty vlogger Carli Bybel unveiled an eyeshadow palette for the cult brand Anastasia Beverly Hills this month, while MAC Cosmetics announced the launch of a 17-piece makeup collection with the Korean beauty influencer Pony.
