The teenage was allegedly raped by the suspect, aged 18, whom she had known via WhatsApp.

Aidil said the suspect was arrested following a police report lodged by the victim’s father on Monday morning.

“At about 4am, the victim’s father found his 13-year-old daughter crying. She informed her father that she was raped by the suspect at the Mindef Housing Complex, Mile 6 on May 15.

“The victim was apparently forced by the suspect to undress,” said the police chief.

Aidil said medical examination recorded that the victim had an old hymen tear.
