LUNDU: A little girl was stung by a jellyfish at Telok Melano beach yesterday (Feb 25), the second jellyfish sting case this month.

According to Lundu Civil Defence Force (APM), the incident happened around 5.18 pm and it prompted swift action from Telok Melano beach lifeguards.

The girl, who was stung on her right arm, received immediate initial treatment at the beach and is reported to be in stable condition.

A similar incident was reported two weeks on Feb 13 when a little boy was stung on his left foot by a jellyfish.

In light of these events, the public is advised to exercise caution when visiting Telok Melano beach due to the presence of potentially harmful jellyfish.

Should anyone encounter a jellyfish on the beach, they are urged to promptly notify the Telok Melano beach lifeguards.
