MIRI: Chief Minister Datuk Patinggi Abang Johari Tun Openg has called on the people to give representatives from the Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS) another five years’ mandate to govern the state.

“We have planned many development projects for the people, especially those in the rural areas. Give us another five years, help our representatives (GPS) win this coming election  so that we can continue with our  development agenda,” he said.

Speaking after a site visit to Jalan Ulu Suai Niah today, he said the GPS state government emphasised rural development.

“We are trying our very best to deliver and provide road connectivity, basic amenities and other infrastructure  to the rural areas.

“For example, we are planning to link Jalan Ulu Suai Niah to both the Pan Borneo Highway and Miri Coastal Road so that people will have easy access and can commute to nearby towns to sell their produce,” he said.

He also reminded the people not to be easily fooled by the opposition’s propagandas.
