The four Indonesians were caught entering Sarawak illegally.

SRI AMAN: Four illegal immigrants were caught by the General Operations Force (GOF) for entering Sarawak via an illegal route.

The incident happened yesterday (15 Feb) around 11am when a team from the Lachau post was carrying out patrols around Jalan Ladang Sawit, Kampung Rapak Baru near the Malaysia-Indonesia border.

During their patrol, the team came across four Indonesian men behaving in a suspicious manner.

Inspections found that all four had failed to produce any valid travel documents to the patrol team.

As a result, the immigrants had committed offenses under Section 6(1) of the Immigration Act 1959 (Act 155) and the Infectious Disease Prevention and Control Act 1988 (Act 342).

The group of four were later ordered to return to their country of origin via the same route they used.
