KOTA SAMARAHAN: A 46-year-old man used a motorcycle to fetch his son at Universiti Malaysia Sarawak (Unimas) here yesterday.

The man, known only as Pak Man, was overjoyed he could bring his son, Mohd Faizul, home after being stuck in the institution for over a month because of the movement control order (MCO).

“I have no other means of transportation except this motorcycle. But thankfully, my son is now able to return home.

“I would also like to thank Unimas for taking good care of my son as well as the other students throughout the MCO.

“I hope that Unimas personnel will also take good care of themselves while on duty,” he added.

Mohd Faizul, a first-year Unimas student who majored in Industrial Relations and Labour Studies at the Faculty of Social Sciences, was also pleased to be reunited with his family.

“When I received the news last Thursday, I called my father about it,” he said, adding he felt sad for those students who were still stuck in the campus.

“I hope my friends will continue to be patient and that sooner or later, the government will certainly send all of them home, too,” he added.
