KUCHING: Sarawakians are expected to be presented with good news soon.

The expected conveyor of the good news Chief Minister Datuk Patinggi Abang Johari Tun Openg who hinted this, said an announcement will be made within the next two weeks pertaining to the matter.

“The truth is, there is still a lot more for me to work on in the subject of oil and gas. However, let us all wait for the next two weeks. This will be beneficial to Sarawak,” he said, presumably referring to future gains for the state.

“What’s important now is that our politics must be stable and Sarawak must be peaceful. We have a bright future ahead of us,” he added.

This was said during the ground breaking ceremony of the Darul Hana Multi-Fuel Refuelling Station at Jalan Tun Salahuddin, here today.

Abang Johari, who was elaborating on hydrogen fuel earlier, suggested that the good news would be associated with hydrogen.

However, he refrained from disclosing further on the matter besides noting that it would be beneficial to Sarawak as a whole.

On another note, the chief minister said the state government would legislate a law in order to claim for carbon credit.

“This is the global demand. So let Sarawak plays its crucial role in the development agenda of today’s world,” he said.

Meanwhile, he also said the state government had put forward a request to the federal government for tax exemption for hydrogen vehicles.

“This is because this is still a new thing, not only here, but is also new globally,” he explained.
