BINTULU: Good rural road networks will definitely help increase productivity among farmers, said Minister in the Chief Minister’s Department (Integrity and Ombudsman) Datuk Talib Zulpilip.

“They enable farmers to get their produce to markets wherever they are in the state, even beyond Sarawak,” he said, adding that farm produce can also be sold along roadsides rather than in typical markets.

He said the state government has always been giving a massive push towards good road connectivity and infrastructure for the benefit of the people.

Speaking at the closing ceremony of the Agriculture Community Outreach Programme (AgriCOP) at Kampung Haji Ismail, Kuala Tatau on Saturday (Dec 12), Talib said the state government, under the Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS), is always aware of the massive role of agriculture in the economy.

“That is why, via this programme (AgriCOP), we are going to all districts to promote agricultural products and help our farmers and fishermen,” said Talib, who is also Jepak assemblyman.
