KUCHING: A fisherman, whose boat sank in waters off Tanjung Po near Bako here, has received some assistance.
Sarawak United People’s Party (SUPP) Women chief Kho Teck Wan, Team Dynamics chairman Eric Tay and Aaron Tay of Tay Motors paid a visit, and presented a donation to the fisherman, Bong Fook Yu, on Monday (Sept 21).
Kho said Tan Kai (political secretary to the Chief Minister) and his team collected the donation from Good Samaritans, including a businessman, after receiving news about Bong’s predicament.
“Bong lost his fishing boat on Sept 16 during stormy weather…and Tan Kai contacted the marine police and the Malaysian Maritime Enforcement Agency immediately.”
She said it took about one day to find Bong and his crew.
