MUKAH: The Ministry of Domestic Trade and Consumer Affairs (KPDNHEP) Sarawak has seized goods worth RM437,832 involving compounds totalling RM11,900 following checks at 10,208 business premises statewide from January 1 to March 1 this year.

Its enforcement head, Mogan Arumugam, said the businesses ranged from plantation, manufacturing, import, wholesaling to retailing, and covered urban and rural areas.

He was here on a working visit and his schedule included a trip to Daro near here last Monday to check the supply and price of liquefied petroleum gas (LPG).

He also attended a meeting with LPG wholesalers at the ministry’s office here today (March 2).

According to him, the enforcement officers in Sarawak would continue to monitor the daily supplies of goods to ensure that they were sufficient all the time.

He also reminded traders to comply with the law and not to profiteer especially during the challenging time amid Covid-19 pandemic.
