KANOWIT: Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS) government is the government of, by and for all ethnic groups.

Machan assemblyman Allan Siden Gramong said as such GPS has no favoritism when implementing projects.

“Sarawakians are of many races and religions. Therefore, the grassroots of GPS are of all races and religions, and they must not be separated for any reason.

“Likewise, my responsibility as a representative of the people in Machan constituency is to help people of all races under my care,” he said when presenting Minor Rural Project (MRP) cheques in a local restaurant to representatives of five Chinese temples yesterday.

The recipients are Fung Kung Temple Village Development and Security Committee (JKKK), Tai Wong Kung Temple, JKKK Mau San Kanowit Temple, Hock Ann Temple and Chinese Lukut Temple Committee.

Allan assured that the GPS government would continue to be committed to preserving the unity and harmony of the various races in the state by being fair to them always.

“GPS does not favour any particular group. All are safeguarded and given assistance and projects. This is because we want the diversity of races and religions to be the cornerstone of GPS. The coalition wants unity in diversity,” he said.

In this regard, he urged the Chinese in his constituency to continue giving strong support to GPS in the next state election so as to strengthen Sarawak’s voice.
