KOTA SAMARAHAN: The Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS) state government is a caring and responsible government focused on the welfare of its people.

Muara Tuang assemblyman Datuk Idris Buang said one example is the survey of Native Customary Rights (NCR) land as part of the state’s ongoing efforts in putting the people first.

“Deputy Chief Minister Datuk Amar Awang Tengah Ali Hasan has been travelling throughout the whole state using helicopters, boats and so on, which shows how serious this effort is made solely for the benefit of the people everywhere.

“With this, I feel that there is no government more responsible, caring and one that keeps all the interests of the people at heart other than the government we have now,” he said.

He said this when speaking at the presentation ceremony for compensation cheques and Communal Reserve gazette under Section 6 of the Sarawak Land Code and land titles under Section 19 (Residence) at Dewan Seminar Intan Kampus Wilayah Sarawak, here on Thursday (Nov 4).

Idris said that land in Samarahan division must be surveyed quickly because of the rapid population growth.

“With new approaches, new technologies and digital systems developed by the state government, perhaps the results that we look forward to from all this can be achieved faster and in a more organised manner,” he added.

He added that the rapid development in Samarahan division could be attributed to the persistent struggle of former state leaders.

“Now, this effort is continued by Chief Minister Datuk Patinggi Abang Johari Tun Openg with the establishment of Integrated Regional Samarahan Development Agency (Irsda) to implement all of its development projects with more focused, orderly planning throughout the division.”
