GPS convention ends with dinner

KUCHING: The inaugural one-day Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS) Convention 2019 held at Borneo Convention Centre Kuching (BCCK) ended with a dinner reception last Saturday.

Chief Minister Datuk Patinggi Abang Johari Tun Openg did not deliver any speeches but shared a light moment with the crowd of 5,000 at the dinner.

There was a lucky draw session where Abang Johari, the GPS chairman, presented six prizes consisting of smartphones to the winners. There were altogether 130 lucky draw prizes.

The crowd was also entertained by popular local Iban artistes such as Karen Libau.

Also present were Deputy Chief Ministers Tan Sri Datuk Amar Dr James Jemut Masing, Datuk Amar Awang Tengah Ali Hasan, Datuk Amar Douglas Uggah Embas, Sarawak State Legislative Assembly (DUN) Speaker Datuk Amar Mohd Asfia Awang Nassar and other GPS supreme council members.

During the convention, the GPS members had briefed the delegates on the state’s development programme and matters pertaining to land, oil and gas rights under the Malaysia Agreement 1963 (MA63).
