KUCHING: Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS) has reiterated that the party is a separate entity working closely with the Perikatan Nasional (PN) federal government for the good of Sarawak and the country.

GPS secretariat said the coalition is “not immersed in PN but merely cooperating as a partner to it, to ensure the common good of the people especially Sarawakians”.

“We (GPS) are giving our all-out support to Tan Sri Muhyidin Yassin as the prime minister and as the leader of the PN federal government.

“GPS is therefore supporting the PN federal government and GPS remains as a coalition of the four Sarawak-based parties namely Parti Pesaka Bumiputra Bersatu (PBB), Parti Rakyat Sarawak (PRS), Sarawak United People’s Party (SUPP), and Progressive Democratic Party (PDP),” GPS secretariat said in a statement yesterday.

GPS believed that the PN federal government under the leadership of Muhyiddin was the best option for Sarawak for now.

“It is the objective of GPS to ensure stability of the federal government, because only by being stable can the federal government deliver and implement the socioeconomic development to the country including to Sarawak,” it pointed out.
