KUCHING: Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS) has agreed to work together with Perikatan Nasional (PN), Barisan Nasional (BN), and Gabungan Rakyat Sabah (GRS) to form the next federal government.

Premier of Sarawak Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg announced this yesterday.

New Sarawak Tribune asked members of the public for their comments on the matter. Most of those who were interviewed supported GPS’ decision to work together with the other three political coalitions.

I want to know where Sarawak will be in the next five years. It was an interesting election with GPS having a big win. I hope for the best now that the announcement is made. I trust that this is the best decision for the country.

The announcement is a bitter pill to swallow, I had actually hoped that GPS would form a government with Pakatan Harapan (PH). However, I still hope the country will have a bright future.

Despite the results, I still think it is still fair and everyone has the right to form a government. The party leaders have decided but I continue to be hopeful for the future of this country.
