BALAI RINGIN: Members of Parliament (MPs) from Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS) still have the ability to improve the lives of the residents in their respective constituencies.

This was proven as 19 of them have received allocations amounting to RM5 million from the state government as announced by Chief Minister Datuk Patinggi Abang Johari Tun Openg last May 18.

“In addition, we also received RM2 million each for minor rural projects (MRP) and RM250,000 for maintenance of our respective service centres,” he said.

“With that, I hope the people would continue to support the MPs and continue to work with them,” said Sri Aman MP Datuk Masir Kujat.

He was speaking at the launch of a pre-Christmas dinner held by Village Chiefs Association (PTR) of Balai Ringin, Simunjan and Pantu in the multipurpose hall of Balai Ringin town.

Masir also told the MPs who used to be under Barisan Nasional (BN) no longer received allocations from the federal government following the victory of Pakatan Harapan (PH) in the 14th General Election.

Meanwhile Youth and Sports Assistant Minister Datuk Snowdan Lawan, who was also present at the dinner, hoped that PTR Balai Ringin, Simunjan and Pantu would continue to work with the government to improve the lives of their people.

“I hope they would continue to help unite the village chiefs here and to smoothen the process of village development in their areas.

Masir and Snowdan also announced an allocation of RM10,000 for PTR Balai Ringin, Simunjan and Pantu.
