KUCHING: The organising of the Tupong Youth Carnival shows how Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS) and Parti Pesaka Bumiputera Bersatu (PBB) heed the will of the youth in the area.

According to Tupong assemblyman Fazzrudin Abdul Rahman, the three- day carnival from Sept 16 to 18 was held in accordance with the positive feedback from the youth during the holding of the esports programme in the area on Feb 26.

“What we are organising here is from the response of the youth on how they want to spend their free time.

“The GPS and PBB are simple. We heed their response. From this, it proves that we cater to the will of the youth here,” he said during his speech at the carnival at Dewan Semarak here yesterday.

In light of this, he stated that such a programme which benefits the youth would not stop at this carnival.

“We will continue to organise more programmes for the youth from here onwards. This is because it is a method for us to engage with the youth so that we know what their needs and wants are and, at the same time, we would also be able to guide them to be future leaders.

“With this, I would like to express my gratitude for the organising of such an event because I know that it is not easy to organise it.
