KUCHING: Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS) is not in the Perikatan Nasional (PN) alliance, but only to support them so as not to repeat what had happened during the Barisan Nasional’s (BN) ruling in the past.

Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS) secretary-general Datuk Alexander Nanta Linggi said that is why GPS only supported Tan Sri Muhyiddin as the prime minister and for PN to be the federal government.

“GPS supports PN because it does not want the federal government to be unstable and GPS cannot trust Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim and Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR).

“Furthermore, GPS and its members have been degraded by Democratic Action Party (DAP),” he said.

Nanta said as such, many GPS leaders do not want to support DAP as the party is “very arrogant and rude, which is why GPS does not want to be with DAP”.

“Therefore, we do not need to be harsh with PN as we support them as the federal government.

“We, the Sarawak government, can easily get development projects from the PN federal government as they want to support Sarawak,” he said.

He said being with PN federal government, this is the time Sarawak should work harder to get more development and push for more power to be given to the state.
