SIBU: Every complaint and problem voiced by the people will be heard and action will be taken by the Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS) state government, said Senator Robert Lau Hui Yew.

“The GPS government always prioritises the needs of the people regardless of race and religious background. The GPS government will do its best to help the people and be kind to them.

“There is no such thing as the people will be marginalised under the GPS government,” he told reporters today.

The Sarawak United Peoples’ Party (SUPP) Bawang Assan branch chairman was met after handing over a minor rural project (MRP) cheque to the Rh Dennis Ansam’s Women’s Bureau at his service centre here.

He also presented a computer set to the Parent Teacher Association of SK Kampung Bungan, Batang Igan for use of the school.

Lau explained that he and his machinery would continue to be on the ground often in the Bawang Assan constituency.

“This is not due to the upcoming 12th State Election (PRN12) but due to responsibility.

“Many people say that many political parties are starting to go on the ground in the rural areas because the election season is near but for us, especially SUPP Bawang Assan, we are always on the ground regardless of the election season or not.

“This is because SUPP is a component party in GPS and it is our responsibility to serve the people, especially in the Bawang Assan constituency,” he stressed.
