DARO: Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS) will field at least 12 new faces in the upcoming general election (GE15).

Premier and GPS chairman Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg said probably the new faces would be placed at the seats where the ruling party had lost in the last general election.

“At the component level, for sure we have the new faces because last time we lost in 12 seats and these seats probably we will have new candidates,” he said in a press conference after launching Rumah Spektra Permata Kampung Badong and Daro Sport Complex here, yesterday.

Abang Johari thanked those who volunteered to step down and being replaced with new faces as GPS including its component party has practised grooming exercise for the new faces as candidates.

“We just wait for the announcement later,” he said.

He also said that all of GPS candidates fielded in GE15 would be vetted by the Royal Malaysia Police, Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) and the Insolvency Department.
