KUCHING: The Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS) will be launching its 15th general election (GE15) manifesto themed “Sarawak First” on Sunday (Nov 6).

GPS chairman Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg said GPS has a clear direction for Sarawak by the year 2030.

“Our theme is Sarawak First, that is our fight.

We are very firm on our manifesto even though there are some leaders who have previously claimed that the manifesto is not bible,” he said.

He said this during a press conference on the announcement of candidates for GE15 at the Parti Pesaka Bumiputera Bersatu (PBB) headquarters today.

Abang Johari, who is the Parti Pesaka Bumiputera Bersatu (PBB) President, reminded Sarawakians to not let history repeat itself.

Recalling the Pakatan Harapan’s (PH) manifesto during the previous general election, he pointed out that their manifesto was full of empty promises and failed to implement them during the 22 months they were in power.

“I would like to remind Sarawakians to ‘jangan melihat pisang berbuah dua kali’ (do not let history repeat itself), only GPS can protect and defend the rights of Sarawak.

“We have our policies including matters that are not resolved yet under the Malaysia Agreement 1963 (MA63),” he said.

Abang Johari stated that GPS through caretaker Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department (Parliament and Law) Datuk Seri Wan Junaidi Tuanku Jaafar managed to successfully include the MA63 and the Intergovernmental Committee (ICG) report as its enacture to be part of the Federal Constitution.

“That was a success by the GPS minister,” he said.

He also thanked the incumbents who have served in the previous government, especially those who are stepping down and giving way to new faces in the GE15.
