Dr Abdul Rahman speaks during the dialogue session.

KUCHING: Parti Pesaka Bumiputera Bersatu (PBB) branch and grassroots leaders have to view themselves as political frontliners.

PBB vice president Datuk Dr Abdul Rahman Junaidi said such perception was important to ensure that the party machinery continues to run smoothly.

“If the Chief Minister (Datuk Patinggi Abang Johari Tun Openg) announced the election date in the near future, we have to prepare our machinery to the best we can.

“This is to ensure that every planning drafted can be realised smoothly,” he said during a dialogue session at Pantai Damai on Wednesday night.

The session was attended by PBB grassroots leaders of Kampung Temenggong, Kampung Sungai Agas and Kampung Temedak.

Kampung Temenggong is the fourth location in a series of dialogue sessions after Kampung Jaya Bakti, Kampung Pasir Pandak and Kampung Semarang.

Dr Abdul Rahman who is also Pantai Damai assembylman said the dialogue sessions were to prepare the grassroots leaders to be ready for the state election.

“We can no longer dwell on the past, instead we have to be ready and work according to the mould that is set,” he said.

He added that the cooperation between branch machinery and grassroots have to be good to ensure that every strategy could be coordinated.

“We want everyone at the branch level to interact well so that whatever we plan will be implemented smoothly,” he said.
