SPAOH: The Batu Anchau cemetery in Paku, Spaoh here saw about 11 plots desecrated by grave robbers.
Sarawak Public Communications Unit said the latest incident was believed to have happened last Saturday (April 9) and was noticed by residents of a nearby longhouse who were surveying the cemetery.
“A police report was lodged the next day.
“The Batu Anchau cemetery belongs to five longhouses, namely Rumah Beduru Paku, Rumah Matop Paku, Rumah Tanjong Lama Paku, Rumah Tanjong Baru Paku and Rumah Kerangan Pinggai Paku,” it said on Thursday (April 14).
“Before this, there had been a similar incident in the same cemetery.
“Residents hope that the authorities would act swiftly to bring these robbers to justice. Such an act (looting of graves) is offensive to the families of the deceased.”
