According to him, the project which includes a 1.2km bridge is fully funded by the state government.

The implementation of the project is a relief for residents in the area because currently, they have to travel for more than two hours to Sibu before heading to Tanjung Manis.

A local businessman Victor Tan, 34, said the construction of the new coastal road was very much welcomed as it would speed up communication and   improve the local economy.

“The construction of this road will benefit us greatly. Thank you very much to the state government for this project,” he said.
