MIRI: A man was detained for stealing a handphone belonging to a security guard of a private institution in Senadin here on Monday (May 3).
The 25-year-old suspect was held around 3pm at a house in Bandar Baru Permyjaya here by a team of Criminal Investigation Department task force.
They recovered a Samsung S8 Plus phone, which was believed to be the stolen item.
On Sunday (May 2), the security guard noticed that two of his phones had gone missing while manning a control post.
He then lodged a police report.
The case is being investigated under Section 379 of the Penal Code for theft.
