TELANG USAN: The celebration of Hari Raya Aidiladha serves as a platform to foster stronger relationships between Muslims and people from different races, according to Telang Usan assemblyman, Dennis Ngau.

He said, in the town of Long Lama, it has become a cultural practice to invite non-Muslims to celebrate Hari Raya Aidiladha and help facilitate the Qurban ceremony.

According to Dennis, non-Muslims willingly offer their assistance in cutting the meat after the sacrificial rites, ensuring that it is properly distributed to those in needs. This close cooperation lightens the workload and is seen as a shared responsibility.

He said this during the Aidiladha celebration held at Masjid Darussalam Belarek on Thursday.

A total of nine cows were contributed to the mosque for Qurban.

Premier Tan Sri Datuk Patinggi Abang Johari Tun Openg and Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Fadillah Yusof each donated a cow.

The mosque also extended its charitable efforts to the asnaf, people with disabilities (PWD), and converts. A total of 170 recipients received donations from the mosque.
