Harrison is Sarawak PKR election secretariat coordinator

KUCHING: Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) Sarawak State Leadership Council (MPN) has appointed lawyer and activist Harrison Ngau Laing as head coordinator of its State Election Secretariat in anticipation of the state election which the party thinks will be called anytime.

“Harrison is a very committed member and his struggle for the people has been proven.

“He was a recipient of the Goldman Prize in 1990 for his devotional services in defending the people oppressed by logging activities,” the party’s Information and Communications chief Abun Sui Anyit said in a statement on Monday (June 8).

Others appointed to the various posts in the secretariat are PKR Batang Sadong division chief Piee Ling (PKR Sarawak organising secretary), MPN Sarawak vice chairman Japar Suyut, (head of Welfare Bureau) and MPN Sarawak vice chairman Roland Engan, (head of Institutional and Governance Reform).

Several coordinators have also been appointed to work closely with the various branches. They are Edwin Limbang (Mas Gading branch), Datuk Dr Nor Irwan Ahmad Nor (Petra Jaya), Jame Stephen (Bintulu), Suaidi Morshidi (Kota Samarahan) and Elison Ludan (Kanowit).

On Lubok Antu MP Jugah Muyang’s resignation from PKR which left one of the national vice president’s post vacant, Abun said: “… on the post left by YB Jugah Muyang, who defected (sic) PKR, MPN has decided to submit a name to be considered by PKR president Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim which will be announced in due course”.
