KUCHING: Batu Kitang assemblyman Lo Khere Chiang urged Sarawakians to put their trust in Chief Minister Datuk Patinggi Abang Johari Tun Openg in regaining Sarawak’s eroded rights and interests.

He commended Abang Johari for placing Sarawak’s interests foremost as a condition for GPS to join Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin’s Perikatan Nasional (PN) federal administration.

“Time is of the essence and crucial and there are bound to be times when our leaders have no time to fully explain to the rakyat (people) before taking steps and calculated risks during a political impasse,” he told New Sarawak Tribune yesterday.

He assured that something good would come to Sarawak under the new administration.

He reminded Sarawakians to unite under the Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS) and to learn from the mistakes of the previous Pakatan Harapan (PH) government.

“We have witnessed how PH twisted their promises to Sarawak. Even the discussions to honour and to return all rights as stipulated under MA63 by the steering committee headed by the prime minister yielded no results.

“Instead, we saw the fallout of PH via their internal struggle for power. What does Sarawak benefit from the political chaos in Malaya? Absolutely nothing,” he said.
