KUCHING: The Kenyalang Market hawkers are required to produce their negative swab test result before they can operate their stalls starting today (May 29).

Kuching South City Council (MBKS) mayor Datuk Wee Hong Seng said the procedure is made to ensure the public’s safety.

“I can assure the public that the Kenyalang Market is safe as it has been sanitised. That is why the market will operate as per usual but visitors and hawkers must adhere to the standard operating procedures (SOPs) as our war against Covid-19 has not ended.

“Everyone must stay vigilant and stay alert with your surroundings. Not to forget to always keep yourself safe for the sake of your family,” he reminded during his site inspection at the market together with Cr Goh Tze Hui and Cr Kho Teck Wan yesterday.
