KUCHING: Hawkers in the Sibuti parliamentary constituency are reminded to observe the Covid-19 standard operating procedures (SOPs) during their operations.
It is vital they must fully adhere to the set guidelines when conducting their daily business, asserted Sibuti MP Lukanisman Awang Sauni when relaying the reminder pertaining to the restrictions under the conditional movement control order (CMCO).
“This is to curb the spread of the Covid-19 pandemic in the state, especially in the Miri Division which (the number of cases) is increasing.
“Only by complying fully with the SOPs, the community can curb the spread of Covid-19 pandemic which until today has not subsided,” he said when presenting personal protective equipment (PPE) such as face masks, gloves, aprons and hand sanitisers to hawkers at the Bekenu Rural Transformation Centre (RTC) on Saturday.
In a Facebook update, the MP revealed that the equipment pack was also distributed to the hawkers who are selling food in front of their homes.
“It is hoped that all who are conducting their business will get better income and be protected from the Covid-19 pandemic,” said the parliamentarian.
A total of 209 traders received the contribution on Saturday. At the same time, Lukanisman also bought food for breaking fast at the Bekenu RTC.
