KUCHING: The Head of State, Tun Pehin Sri Abdul Taib Mahmud and his wife Toh Puan Datuk Patinggi Raghad Kurdi Taib attended the royal banquet at Istana Nurul Iman, Bandar Seri Begawan, Brunei Darussalam yesterday.
Around 3000 distinguished guests attended the royal banquet that marked the 76th birthday of Brunei ruler Sultan Hassanal Bolkiah.
The guests comprised members of the royal family, state dignitaries, and foreign diplomatic officials.
Apart from that, Singapore’s Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong and his wife Ho Ching also attended the grand state banquet at the royal palace Istana Nurul Iman.
All foreign dignitaries headed to the Brunei International Airport to fly home after the banquet.
Also present to accompany Tun Taib was Deputy Minister for Modernisation of Agriculture and Regional Development (Modernisation of Agriculture) Datuk Dr Abdul Rahman Ismail and his wife Datin Dayang Maimunah Awang Muhammad.
