Head of State, wife visit Kuching friends

KUCHING:  Head of State Tun Pehin Sri Abdul Taib Mahmud and his wife Toh Puan Ragad Kurdi Taib also paid Chinese New Year visits on Saturday, the first day of the Chinese New Year. 

Taib, who was clad in Chinese traditional attire, and his wife, first visited the Sarawak United People’s Party (SUPP) Chinese New Year open house at its headquarters here.

After that, they visited State Legal Counsel Datuk Seri JC Fong and Plaza Merdeka Holding managing director Datuk Steve Ng Thian Yew.

They were accompanied by Deputy Chief Minister Datuk Amar Awang Tengah Ali Hasan and International Trade and Industry, Industrial Terminal and Entrepreneur Development Assistant Minister Datuk Mohd Naroden Majais.

The entourage later visited Kuching South City Council (MBKS) mayor Datuk Wee Hong Seng and Kuching Chinese General Chamber of Commerce & Industry (KCGCCI) chairman Datuk Rodger Chan Siong Boh.

They also visited Local Government and Housing Minister Datuk Seri Dr Sim Kui Hian and iCube Innovation founder and chairman Datuk Patrick Liew.
