KUCHING: Toh Puan Datuk Patinggi Ragad Kurdi Taib, the wife of Yang di-Pertua Negeri Tun Pehin Sri Abdul Taib Mahmud, presented donations to 20 needy persons today (Aug 23).
The presentations held in connection with ‘Jalinan Kasih’ programme were carried out from house to house.
The recipients were those from Kampung Tabuan Hilir, Kampung Tabuan Ulu Haji Drahman, Kampung Tabuan Haji Drahman, Kampung Pulo Hilir, Astana, Depo, Kampung Gemersik, Kampung Sourabaya Hilir, Kampung Tupong Batu, Kampung Tupong Jaya, Kampung Tupong Tengah, Kampung Tupong Ulu, and Cendrawasih here.
Among the recipients were senior citizens who are living alone, single seniors who are self-employed, people with disabilities (OKU), single mothers and those in the B40 economic category.
The contributions in the form of cash and basic necessities were meant to lighten the burdens of the recipients and their families, especially as the recovery movement control order is still in force.
Also present during presentations was Minister of Welfare, Community Wellbeing, Women, Family and Childhood Development Datuk Seri Fatimah Abdullah.
