Heavily pregnant woman nabbed in drug operation

MIRI: A heavily pregnant woman and her husband were among 21 people arrested during two operations conducted by the National Anti-Drugs Agency (NADA)  Sarawak  here on Friday night.

Those arrested were between 21 and 48 years old. Ten of them tested positive for drugs.

Involved in the operation were NADA Miri, Bintulu and Limbang, officers from the Miri Resident Office, Miri Welfare Department, Rela and Resident Committee (RC) crews.

The operations, conducted at Piasau Utara and Pujut 9, were held from 11.15pm to 12.30am.

According to reliable sources, the woman was eight months pregnant.

Also present during the operations were Sarawak NADA’s deputy director (prevention) YulianiYahya and Miri NADA’s head Mazlan Jikran.
