KUCHING: Commitment, quality and perfection are prerequisites to a sound event management during state government functions.
State Secretary Datuk Amar Jaul Samion urged state government agencies and officials to heed the advice to improve event management in the future.
He said this when officiating at an Event Management Workshop 2.0 at a hotel here on Tuesday.
Jaul described the three-day workshop as a stepping stone to reach a world class civil service.
“A lot of ideas were formulated during this workshop and this will benefit all state government functions in the future,” he said.
Jaul added that the onus is not only on the Protocol and Event Management Unit (Uppan) to improve event management but should be shouldered by all.
“Only then, we can be more effective in managing state government functions,” he said.
Earlier, Uppan director Azlan Ali Badri said that the workshop involved 57 participants from the public and private sectors along with higher learning institutions nationwide.
“This workshop provides an opportunity to collect experiences from the participants and work towards improving the flow of event management,” he said.
Azlan hoped that Uppan officers are given the opportunity to serve outside of the state to gain experience and at the same time improve their own capacity.
