Teachers and students attend the Song District Career and Education Program.

The Sarawak Foundation (Yayasan Sarawak), in collaboration with the District Education Office, organises the Career and Education Program in 30 locations throughout Sarawak from September 28 to end of December, 2022.

This one-day programme aims to introduce high school students to the opportunities of furthering their studies in their field of interest, as well as to raise their awareness of the steps necessary to pursue those opportunities.

The programme serves as the best platform for exposing students to courses offered by Higher Education Institutions (IPT) that are invited for exhibitions, giving students the opportunity to receive counselling services on their course of interest and eligibility.

Some of the IPTs that took part in the exhibition included Swinburne University of Technology Sarawak Campus, Universiti Teknologi Sarawak, and Curtin University Sarawak.

Students can also learn important information about current career fields from briefings delivered by Sarawak Foundation officials involved in each district.

Aside from the briefings, students can get information from Yayasan Sarawak’s counselling services on education financial assistance in order to strengthen their finances when continuing their studies at the tertiary level.

Dalat, Selangau, Kanowit, Baram, Samarahan, Daro, Mukah, Bau, Simunjan, Saratok, Lubok Antu, Limbang, Subis, Serian, Miri, Kuching, Padawan, and Sibu are among the areas covered.

The dates of the events in each location can be found on the Sarawak Foundation’s official website at https://yayasansarawak.org.my/my/category/aktiviti/.
