Helping the needy in Petra Jaya

KUCHING: It is almost a routine for the Petra Jaya parliamentary constituency welfare team to be on the ground, doling out help to the needy.

On Saturday, representatives of Senior Minister (Infrastructure Cluster) Datuk Seri Fadillah Yusof; Morshidi Said and Naz Ismadiee Khalit visited the locals in the three state constituencies under Petra Jaya — Tupong, Satok and Samariang.

They were joined by Parti Pesaka Bumiputera Bersatu (PBB) Satok branch deputy chairman Datuk Ibrahim Baki, a political secretary to the Chief Minister, Abdul Samat Gany and PBB Satok vice chairman Helmi Othman.

Also present were PBB Satok assistant secretary Azmi Hipni, Elderly Activities Centre (Pawe) chairman Rosli Sahari and other members of Pawe.

The help presented to the recipients included three wheelchairs for the PBB Sungai Maong sub branch, one wheelchair for the Muda Hashim Tengah sub-branch along with a bubble mattress.

Meanwhile, for Muda Hashim B (Parit Lama) sub branch, assistance in the form of cash aid and basic necessities was presented. For the Bandarsah sub branch, the team presented a bubble mattress and disposable diapers.

For the Kampung No. 5 sub branch, a wheelchair was presented to a diabetes patient.

Pawe Sri Satok, on the other hand, received 20 sets of basic necessities for the needy.

The distribution of assistance was conducted under stringent standard operating procedures (SOPs) to prevent the spread of Covid-19.
