SPAOH: The World Bank recognising Sarawak as a high-income state proves that the Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS) government is doing a good job.

Minister of Women, Family, and Community Development Datuk Seri Nancy Shukri said we should be proud because this recognition comes from the World Bank, who carefully looked at and evaluated Sarawak’s situation directly.

“While our goal is to become a developed state, this recognition from a global finance institution carries immense weight. It confirms that our efforts are on the right track,” she said when met by reporters after attending the Wanita Bangkit @KPWKM (Ministry of Women, Family, and Community Development) Programme at the Spaoh Community Hall here yesterday.

The event was officiated by Deputy Premier Datuk Amar Douglas Uggah Embas.

Nancy reminded that this recognition is not based on empty claims.

Sarawak has proven itself among the states that have achieved remarkable progress in terms of economic activity.

Consequently, many outsiders are attracted to Sarawak, she said.
