KUCHING: It is high time that Miri is represented by a Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS) MP said Sarawak United People’s Party (SUPP) secretary-general Datuk Sebastian Ting.

He said the voters must continue their support for the state government in parliamentary election after electing GPS assemblymen at all three state seats under the parliamentary constituency.

“Thanks to the people of Miri for giving Adam Yii a chance to become an assemblyman; Datuk Seri Lee Kim Shin as Senadin assemblyman, and me as Piasau assemblyman.

“This is to develop Miri not only the city area, but also the hinterlands. In the 15th General Election, we hope the people in Miri will give us a chance. This is so that Miri will be represented by GPS to work for the people here,” he said

He said this during his address at the Miri-Sibuti Sarawak United People’s Party (SUPP) virtual Chinese New Year (CNY) open house celebration today.

Ting, who is Tourism, Creative Industry and Performing Arts Assistant Minister, said moving forward, the GPS Miri team has its work cut out for it.

“At this juncture, we would like to thank Chief Minister Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg who led us in the state election.

“The mandate that was given to GPS was resounding with support coming from Lundu to Lawas where we obtained 76 seats,” he said.

Ting said with the trust given by the people of Sarawak and especially Miri, GPS representatives will work to deliver their promises.

“Datuk Seri Lee, Adam Yii, and I will make sure we will implement all our plans.

“We will try our best and, of course, we need all Mirians to work with us,” he said.
