KUCHING: First time army voters have expressed their happiness voting for the first time.
Two soldiers inked their fingers and cast their votes into the ballot box for the first time.
Sabahan Hermon Kinbawan, 23, a private with the army Ranger Regiment shared that he felt thrilled and excited for being able to cast his votes into the ballot box.
“It is a historic moment for me to be able to vote here, even though I come from Sabah but I am tremendously happy to vote here.
“I feel completely happy and proud as it is my responsibility to the country,” he said.
Another first time voter, army signalman Nur Shuzamie Shariee Saidina from Melaka, 23, also shared his happiness of being able to vote for the first time.
“It is a joyous moment for me, I don’t come from Sarawak and it is a first time experience for me so I feel completely happy for being able to vote,” he shared.
They were met by reporters at the Muara Tuang Army Camp on Tuesday (Nov 15) after casting their early votes.
