Hit-and-run victim admitted to SGH

KOTA SAMARAHAN: A 43 year-old motorcyclist who was involved in a hit-and-run incident was admitted to the Sarawak General Hospital (SGH) Accident and Emergency Department red zone on Wednesday (Jun 17).

The victim Fazdly Ahim was rear-ended by a lorry along the Jalan Kota Samarahan – Sadong Jaya (nearby the Summer mall roundabout).

State Traffic Investigation and Enforcement chief Supt Alexson Naga Chabu said the lorry, whose license plate and manufacture was unidentified, rear-ended the victim and immediately fled the scene of the accident.

“The victim was brought to Sarawak Heart Centre (Pusat Jantung Kota Samarahan) and was referred to SGH for further treatments,” he added.

He said the police were currently working on tracking the lorry involved in the accident.

The case is being investigated under Section 43(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987.
