KUCHING: The Program Penambahbaikan Rumah Rakyat Miskin Sarawak (PPRMS) or Home Improvement Programme for Sarawak’s Poor will continue to be implemented in the Pantai Damai constituency, says assemblyman Datuk Dr Abdul Rahman Junaidi.

He said he would continue to work with the village chiefs and Pantai Damai Parti Pesaka Bumiputera Bersatu (PBB) leadership to channel PPRMS assistance to the needy.

“Application is still available so I urge the village chiefs to send in the list of houses that needed repairs so that we can utilise the PPRMS funds for the purpose.”

He was speaking to the press after visiting completed and ongoing PPRMS projects at Kampung Pasir Pandak and Kampung Buntal here on Monday (Nov 16).

The PPRMS was initiated by Chief Minister Datuk Patinggi Abang Johari Tun Openg in 2018.

Every state constituency is given RM1 million for the purpose, with each house getting about RM15,000.

Sixty-nine such projects were completed in 2018, while 47 projects were implemented as of this year.

“Some of the projects this year have already been completed while some are ongoing.

“The implementation of some projects was halted due to the movement control order.”
