Hope Place distributes food items to flood relief centres

SADONG JAYA: Yesterday afternoon, Hope Place brought along food items and other necessities to the flood victims at two relief centres here.

Hope Place founder Kelvin Wan handed over the relief items that included rice, biscuits, noodles, children pampers, adult pampers, Milo, milk powder and drinking water to the flood victims at SK Rangawan Putin.

On hand to receive the donations was the relief centre coordinator, Rafendy Ariffen.

A total of 578 victims from 171 families were temporary sheltered at the relief centre. They came from six villages in the surrounding area.

The second relief centre was at SK Haji Kelali where Kelvin and his assistants handed over food items and other necessities to Ketua Kampung Haji Lachak Sobeng.

A total of 206 victims from 71 families were camped at this relief centre. They came from five different villages. There were also three OKUs among them.

At SK Rangawan Putin, one of the flood victims suddenly became very sick.  Sadong Jaya SAO Althrina then immediately arranged for the army to send her to the Sarawak General Hospital in Kuching.

Hope Place, which currently has more than 200 families on their recipient list, carries out aid deliveries once in every three months.
