KUCHING: Two temporary tenants from Anjung Singgah recently received one-off assistance from Hope Place.

Anjung Singgah, known as a temporary shelter for homeless people, is operated under a governmental body, Yayasan Kebajikan Masyarakat (YKM), that has been collaborating with Hope Place for several years.

According to Hope Place, the first recipient was Beti Kada, 69, from Sri Aman who has no relatives to assist her. She was given a one-off aid of adult diapers.

“Beti has multiple types of ailments including gout. Currently, Beti resides at Anjung Singgah while waiting for her registration process to Rumah Sri Kenanga,” it said in the statement.

It added that the other recipient is a 30-year-old woman named Bong Siew Chen who is homeless together with her three children aged between one and 11.

“Bong is unemployed; thus, she was given a one-off aid of baby formula and baby diapers,” it said.

Hope Place stated that the public are welcome to donate via bank transfer to their Maybank account 511289001160 or through their Facebook page to get their Sarawak Pay QR code.
