KUCHING: Hope Place recently assisted a woman, who lost her husband, and is struggling to bring up her two schooling children.

The widow, who only goes by Lusia, 43, has no income and only depends on the generosity and kindness of others. She is currently staying with her two children aged seven and 10 in Sungai Tengah.

Back in May of this year, her husband drowned while saving her when the family went for a picnic in Sungai Rayu.

Lusia said she was still waiting for the approval of financial assistance from the Social Welfare Department, which she submitted in May. Hope Place is helping Lusia and her children with some basic food aid.

For more information, Hope Place or Persatuan Kebajikan Harapan Kuching can be reached at 082-505987 and all donations are welcome and receipts will be given upon request.
