Hope Place provides food aid to disabled man

KUCHING: A 60-year-old disabled person received assistance from Hope Place on Thursday (March 4).

Yip Mun Fei used to be a cook before he became physically disable five years ago due to bacterial infection on his skin and leg.

In a statement, Hope Place said Yip lives with his wife and a 13-year-old daughter but the family is facing financial difficulties.

“Yip is unable to work because of his condition but he receives RM1,000 a month from Social Security (Socso). However, he uses two packets of bandages per week and has to pay a RM500 rental.

“His wife used to work at a karaoke centre, but lost her job after the implementation of the movement control order (MCO),” it said.

Hope Place added that they are providing the family with basic food assistance until their financial condition improves.
