Hope Place seeks aid for Sri Aman villages

KUCHING: Hope Place Kuching is initiating its ‘Giving Hope, Sharing Love’ (GHSL) project to help villagers in four longhouses in Lingga, Sri Aman, and is seeking sponsorships and donations from the public.

GHSL is an annual charity project and it is meant to provide basic needs and healthcare assistance, as well as solar energy to villages in Sarawak.

The four longhouses are Kampung Menuang which has 20 doors, Kampung Merdang (10 doors), Kampung Langgir Ulu (eight doors) and Kampung Langgir Ili (26 doors).

Among services which will be provided by Hope Place to these longhouses are food supply, health screening, dental and hairdressing.

The food donation is worth around RM34,000 ― which comprises 230 packets of 10kg rice, 230 packets of 1kg sugar, 230 packets of 1kg salt, 230 boxes of dry noodles, 230 bottles of cooking oil, 230 boxes of biscuits, 230 packets of 1kg malt drink, 24 packets of milk powder and 100 packets of oats.

Hope Place is now in the midst of collecting sufficient amount of aid before the project is set in motion.

In addition, Hope Place is also looking for medical and hairdressing volunteers who are interested in joining this year’s GHSL charity project.
