BAU: A 45-year-old man who suffered from a severe illness is believed to have killed himself with a shotgun at Kampung Tabong Apar, Singai on Thursday (Aug 27).
District police chief DSP Poge Nyaon said the police was told about the suicide by a concerned person around 9.45am, after which a mobile team was immediately deployed to the scene.
The body of the deceased was taken to Bau Hospital for further investigations and processing.
“The man’s wife suspected the victim acted as such because he was extremely unhappy with his illness (diabetes, high blood pressure, and kidney failure).
“He was on treatment for almost seven years, and it is believed that he had no chance of recovery,” he said in a statement.
Poge said the case which was being investigation had been classified as sudden death.
