KUCHING: Assistant Minister in the Chief Minister’s Department (Corporate Affairs and Sarawak Government Communication Unit (Ukas), Abdullah Saidol hopes Sarawak will be well represented in the new federal Cabinet.
He said this while congratulating Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob for being appointed as the country’s ninth prime minister.
He also hoped Ismail Sabri would do better and stay longer in leading the country.
“Let him settle down first and give him space to revisit, revalue and, where necessary and appropriate, to restructure a workable and efficient administrative plan, especially to ease the pandemic pressure on the people and to quickly implement the economic recovery.
“Our nation’s political crisis has inflicted so much injury on our economy. Quick thinking, planning and action are very desired by all,” he stressed.
Ismail Sabri, who is also the Bera MP was appointed as the ninth prime minister following the resignation of Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin as prime minister on Aug 16.
This came after the latter failed to command the majority support of the MPs.
